Kia PV5 L1/H1 Electric Van Joins Range Amid Key MY27 Updates
Kia has formally launched the L1/H1 version of its award-winning Kia PV5 Cargo, boasting range-leading payload capacity and a new entry-level price.
The Kia PV5 Cargo L1/H1 slots in as a more compact and manoeuvrable variation of the Platform Beyond Vehicle architecture and is aimed more squarely at the likes of the Citroen e-Berlin,go M and Renault Kangoo E-Tech MWB.
In terms of outright dimensions, the L1/H1 is 200mm shorter than the L2 at 4,495mm but is the same height at 1,899mm.
This translates to a 4.0-cubic metres load space area, which compares to the Citroen e-Berlingo M’s 3.3-cubic metres of cargo room.
Under the skin, the PV5 Cargo L1/H1 gets the same two-strong choice of either 51.5kWh Standard Range or 71.2kWh Long Range batteries, with the former aimed at urban last-mile delivery companies and the latter targeted towards those with longer business commutes.

The Standard Range battery offers up to 177-miles of range, while the Long Range is a WLTP Combined 243-miles of range.
Due to the smaller dimensions, payload capacity for the L1/H1 rises to 800kg in Essential, Standard Range trim.
For now, the Kia PV5 Cargo L1/H1 is available only as a two-seater but there are plans in place to introduce a three-seat variant in 2027.
The arrival of the L1/H1 sees the starting price of the PV5 Cargo range reduce to £27,355* basic, while the L2/H1 range starts at £28,255 basic.
To coincide with the launch of the L1/H1, Kia has also introduced a handful of updates for the entire range based on feedback from customers.
This includes the inclusion of driver lumbar support, a multi-position driver armrest, a slimline antenna to reduce overall height to under 1.9m, a composite bulkhead and a walk-away lock function.
