Peugeot Partner new van review

Peugeot Partner new van review

Vansdirect takes a closer look at the small van crowned International Van of the Year 2019, introducing the new Peugeot Partner van!

Introduction to the new Peugeot Partner van

Alongside its sister vans in the form of the Citroen Berlingo and Vauxhall Combo, the new Peugeot Partner was crowned International Van of the Year 2019. Alongside the Citroen Berlingo and Vauxhall Combo, the new Peugeot Partner takes the small vans segment to another level, with enhanced practicality, payloads up to one-tonne and a host of new high-tech advances in the cabin. Vansdirect takes a closer look!

Carrying abilities

Just like the model it has replaced in the Peugeot vans range, the new Peugeot Partner van is available in two load lengths now labelled standard and long. Even smallest models of the van can accommodate two Europallets as standard, whilst load volumes in the range go up to 4.4 cubic metres and payloads range between 650kg and a class leading 1000kg. Loading is made easy with a sliding side door as standard, there's also the option of an additional offside sliding door if you wish.

Just like the Citroen Berlingo and Vauxhall Combo sister vans, the new Peugeot van is available with a choice of two diesel engines and a solitary petrol engine. The highly economical 1.6-litre turbodiesel engine has been retained from the outgoing model with 75ps and 100ps outputs with a five-speed manual transmission, there's also an all-new 1.5-litre diesel engine delivering 130ps and comes with a six speed manual transmission or EAT8 automatic alternative.

Specs of the new Peugeot Partner

There really is a new Peugeot Partner for everyone's requirements, with no fewer than four different trim levels available. Even base level S models come loaded with standard features including: DAB radio, daytime running lights, bluetooth, Peugeot i-Cockpit with head-up display, full bulkhead and automatic headlights.

There's also standalone Grip models designed specifically for builders, difficult terrains and heavy, dirty, long loads, whilst also having enough space for three in the front. Durable enough to handle all conditions, Grip models get a higher ground clearance as well as large wheels, Advanced Grip Control and the 1000kg maximum payload.

Professional models also build on S models with standard features which include: Air conditioning, rear parking sensors, cruise control, front fog lights, 8-inch colour touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink, tyre pressure monitor and automatic electronic parking brake.

Top of the range Asphalt models are designed for van operators who do a lot of mileage and spend hours in their vans. These models include upgraded soundproofing an acoustic benchmark, comfort seats, electric parking brake, cruise control, automatic lights and windscreen wipers, front and rear parking sensors, comfort driver's seat and passenger side and rear cameras providing tri-function rear and nearside visibility.

Driving the new Peugeot Partner

There's a more car-like feel in the cabin of the new small van courtesy of the i-Cockpit design and head-up display taken from the Peugeot passenger cars range, whilst the new Peugeot van gets nimble steering to make it perfect to navigating around busy city centres. There's also a comfortable and refined driving experience alongside a range of economical engines to make the Peugeot Partner the full package.
