Isuzu D-Max EV Electric Pick-Up Offers Plus-Tonne Payload
The Isuzu D-Max EV has made its debut in right-hand drive format ahead of its imminent sale as the first electric pick-up truck to offer a plus-tonne payload and 3.5-tonne towing capacities.
Having made its world debut at the Commercial Vehicle Show twelve months ago, the Isuzu D-Max EV returned to the event – this time in right-hand drive form – with a full complement of confirmed specifications prior to first deliveries commencing in May 2026.
Available in upper-end eDL40 and eV-Cross trims with both Extended Cab and Double Cab body style options available.
The D-Max EV is powered by a 66.9kWh lithium-ion battery with dual motors located on the front and rear axles for a total power output of 203bhp.

Electric driving range is quoted at 163-miles on a combined WLTP cycle, though up to 224-miles is possible in predominantly low-speed urban environments.
Rapid charging up to 50kW is available for a 20-80% charge of one-hour, while home charging using a 7kW charge takes ten-hours (0-100%).
Importantly, while the Isuzu D-Max EV isn’t the first electric pick-up truck to arrive in the UK, it is the first to assure over one-tonne payload (1060kg) and a full 3.5-tonnes of towing capacity. This puts it in-line with its diesel-powered counterparts in terms of load carrying/towing abilities.
Moreover, the D-Max EV produces 347.6Nm of torque, which compares to 400Nm generated by the new 2.2-litre diesel engine also revealed at the CV Show.

Care has also been taken to ensure the D-Max EV retains the model’s renowned off-road ability thanks to approach and departure angles of 30.5-degrees and 24.2-degrees respectively.
Standard kit available with the D-Max eDL40 and D-Max eV-Cross includes Rough Terrain Mode, dual-zone climate control, heated seats, front/rear parking sensors, Bi-LED headlights and leather seats.
It will come with a five-year/125,000-miles warranty with EU and UK roadside assistance.
