Diesel Renault Trafic Refreshed Ahead of EV Sibling's Arrival
The existing Renault Trafic has received a nip-and-tuck in diesel trim ahead of the imminent arrival of the all-new, all-electric Renault Trafic E-Tech due in early 2027.
Recently crowned International Van of the Year, the Trafic E-Tech heralds the launch of the fourth-generation medium van bearing the long-running nameplate, which this time puts electric power to the forefront of its appeal.
Boasting an entirely new design, high-tech connectivity resources and competitive load size figures, the Trafic E-Tech is primed to go head-to-head with the likes of the Ford E-Transit Custom and Farizon SV in the growing electric van segment.
Nevertheless, the arrival of a new model doesn’t mean the current generation model – on sale since 2014 – is being discarded.
While the electric version in its current format will be discontinued to make way for its direct replacement, the present Trafic will remain on sale for those sticking with turbodiesel power.
As a result, Renault has given the popular model a mild refresh to coincide with the launch of its new namesake, introducing new technology, revised design and improved interior functionality.

From behind the wheel, the Trafic receives a new power steering system that has been tuned for better comfort and more precision, as well as more convenient parking performance.
Fresh kit also includes a more advanced driver attention monitoring camera, while reversing cameras are now standard. The model’s existing OpenR Link multimedia system has also been upgraded.
In terms of design, the Trafic receives new 17-inch steel wheels in single-colour and two-tone finishes, while the interior sees fresh fabric trims.
