All-new electric van start-up brand Flexis has given further details about its plans to take on the established order with an ambitious three-strong range of new models.
The French company has been formed out of a collaborative effort between the Renault Group, Volvo and global logistics/freight giants CMA CGM.
Flexis has been the driving force behind a trio of new electric van models that will go on to wear Renault badges, including the latest generation Trafic, one of the French manufacturer’s most important new models.
However, the company also plans to establish its own versions of the same three models that will be branded as Flexis.
While prototype images of the models show only minor variation between the Flexis Panel Van (Trafic), Step-In (Estafette) and Cargo Van (Goelette) and their equivalent Renault sisters, Flexis will establish its own sales plan in key European markets, including the UK.
Set to arrive in 2026, the range will be headed up by the as-yet-unnamed ‘Panel Van’, which will go head-to-head with the Ford E-Transit and Citroen e-Dispatch.
With Renault giving some of the finer details of its new Trafic following its public debut at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, it is now known the Flexis Panel Van will achieve range of up to 280 miles and can be charged from 15-80% in just 20 minutes.
All three Flexis models are spun off from the same modular ‘skateboard’ platform that has been designed specifically to maximise the traits of electric powertrains.
Benefits of the platform include it being lighter than most electric models, allowing for a payload of more than 1,200kg, while 1.9m roofline means it should fit in underground parking lots. Two versions will be made available in L1 and L2 configuration.
