Renault Kangoo E-Tech Boosts Range to 220-miles with New Battery
The electric Renault Kangoo E-Tech will now travel up to 220-miles on a single charge after receiving a new, larger battery amid a raft of updates.
One of Europe’s most popular small vans, the Kangoo was one of the first in the segment to adopt electric power alongside more conventional diesel options as part of its second-gen iteration.
Having continued the initiative into its current third generation state with the Kangoo E-Tech, Renault has now swapped out the erstwhile 44kWh battery for the same 52kWh unit that can be found in the Renault 5 and Renault 4 passenger models.
The introduction of a new, larger battery is headlined by a significant jump in durability with the revised Kangoo E-Tech’s range rising from up to 186-miles to 220-miles, depending on the body style and specification.

Surpassing the 213-miles offered by the Citroen e-Berlingo, FIAT E-Doblo, Peugeot E-Partner and Vauxhall Combo Electric, the upgrade also puts the Kangoo E-Tech within the realm of the Kia PV5, which has sold strongly since its arrival.
Moreover, the Kangoo E-Tech will recharge at up to 100kW, allowing 150-miles of range to be added with just 30-minutes of DC fast charging.
The 52kWh battery will be offered with the choice of 135hp or 155hp, while four levels of regenerative braking have been introduced too.
Elsewhere, the entire Kangoo range – electric and diesel – receive a new 10-inch OpenR Link touchscreen that Renault says is quicker and more responsive.
