Refreshed Volkswagen Caddy Cargo Tees Up for UK Launch
The updated 2027 Volkswagen Caddy Cargo has arrived in the UK presenting a cosmetic nip-and-tuck and a series of updates to the interior.
A stalwart of the small van class, the VW Caddy Cargo – which shares its running gear with the Ford Transit Connect – has received a mid-cycle update to help it keep pace in a competitive sector.
While dimensions remain unchanged on both the SWB and LWB variant, the Caddy Cargo features a smoother shaped front-end more in-keeping with the rest of the VW van range, including the Volkswagen Transporter.
It’s inside where the biggest changes can be found with the integration of a 12.9-inch infotainment screen designed to be more intuitive to use and clearer when on the move, while Digital Cockpit Pro is a standard feature.
At the rear, the Caddy Cargo offers 3.1-cubic metres of load space, rising to 3.7-cubic metres with the LWB model, while payload capacity is rated at between 711-754kg for the turbodiesel variant and up to 741kg for the eHybrid PHEV.
With no electric version available on this generation of model, the Caddy Cargo eHybrid van offers a frugal solution for businesses with its plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain, which mates a 1.5-litre petrol-fuelled engine with a 19.7kWh battery to offer up to 72-miles of EV only range.
The venerable 2.0-litre turbodiesel generating 100bhp remains available alongside the PHEV
