Sporty Citroen Dispatch VTR Van Resurrects Much-Loved Nameplate
Citroen has announced it is dusting off one of its most iconic nameplates as part of an all-new trim level for the Citroen Dispatch medium-sized van.
The Citroen Dispatch VTR represents a racing-inspired flagship for the range in line with similar treatments for sister models, the Vauxhall Vivaro GS, Peugeot Expert Sport and FIAT Scudo Onyx.
However, the Dispatch VTR stands out for adopting a three-letter nomenclature that is best known for adorning some of the Citroen’s best-known cars, including the famed Saxo VTR, plus the C2 VTR and Xsara VTR.
The return of the VTR coincides with the French firm’s return to international motorsport through its Citroen Racing arm, which will enter the all-electric FIA Formula E World Championship in 2025-26 looking to demonstrate the same dominant success that it enjoyed in the World Rally Championship and World Touring Car Championship.
To Dispatch VTR will be available with either diesel or electric power with the former being a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine generating 180bhp, while the latter comprises a 75kWh battery capable of delivering up to 230-miles of range.
Setting the Citroen Dispatch VTR apart from more utilitarian versions in the range will be a unique body kit and liberal sprinkling of the VTR motif.
Exterior features include a front lip spoiler, side skirts with protective front mud guards and a rear spoiler. It also comes with exclusive diamond-cut 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels.
Inside, the leather seats embossed with the VTR logo feature, as does vibrant red stitching.
Equipment levels represent the most generous in the range with standard inclusion of both the Comfort and Winter Pack, which includes dual-zone climate control, keyless start/entry, wireless charging, plus heated leather steering wheel, heated driver’s seat and side airbags.
