Mitsubishi L200 Pick-Up Truck Confirmed for UK Comeback
The Mitsubishi L200 pick-up truck will be a part of the manufacturer’s line-up when it makes its official return to the UK in 2026, it has been confirmed.
The model ranked as one of the brand’s best-known and best-selling models when Mitsubishi took the decision to withdraw from the right-hand drive UK market in 2021 as part of a major restructure.
However, the Japanese marque will forge a path back to the UK in 2026 with a line-up comprising both new passenger cars developed with Renault and a handful of familiar more models.
One of those is now confirmed to be the Mitsubishi L200, which established itself as one of the nation’s most popular pick-up trucks during its heyday by playing on the brand’s reputation for off-roading models.

Considered the pick-up truck that helped the segment evolve away from its commercial roots to a more lifestyle-oriented demographic, it is hoped the L200 can ‘pick-up’ from where it left off five years ago.
Since the model’s disappearance from UK price lists, the L200 has undergone a major transformation for its sixth-generation iteration.
Visually it ditches many of the previous model’s curvier lines in favour of a chunkier and more muscular profile.
The model has been on sale for some years in Australia already – where it is known as the Triton – and will be powered by a 2.4-litre turbocharged diesel engine producing 201bhp and 470Nm of torque.

Power is sent to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic gearbox with a central differential lock and low-speed rear differential lock.
The Mitsubishi L200 heads into a pick-up truck segment that comprises popular models as the Ford Ranger, Volkswagen Amarok and Isuzu D-Max, while the venerable Toyota Hilux and KGM Musso will receive major overhauls for 2026. The class will also see the introduction of the new GWM POER300, while Maxus has two entries with the T60 MAX and electric eTerron 9.
