Ford, Renault Sweep Fleet News Van Awards 2026
Ford emerged as the big winner from the 2026 Fleet News Van Awards, topping three of the four categories it was up for.
The manufacturer reigned supreme in the Small Van, Medium Van and All-Terrain/Pick-Up Truck categories with its Ford Transit Courier, Ford Transit Custom and Ford Ranger respectively.
In the Small Van segment, the Transit Courier was recognised among a strong contingent of contenders, including recently crowned International Van of the Year, the Kia PV5.
However, the model, which recently gained a battery upgrade to boost range for the electric E-Transit Courier version, not only fought off the Korean newcomer, but other finalists that included the Toyota Proace City, Volkswagen ID.Buzz Cargo and Volkswagen Caddy Cargo.
Best Medium Van, meanwhile, went the way of the top-selling Ford Transit Custom, which won out ahead of the ‘highly commended’ Volkswagen Transporter. Other finalists included the Farizon SV, the Renault Trafic and Toyota Proace.
The Ford Ranger, meanwhile, was a winner once again in the ‘Best All-terrain Workhorse’ category. The Isuzu D-Max was ‘highly commended’ in a segment that also included the Land Rover Defender Hardtop, Toyota Hilux and Toyota Landcruiser CV as finalists.
The only category Ford didn’t triumph in was for the Best Large Van award, though its entry – the Ford Transit – was still highly commended.
However, victory went the way of the Renault Master in a category that also included the Farizon SV, Iveco Daily, MAN TGE, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Volkswagen Crafter.
