Electric Ford Explorer Van Finds Its Way to Vansdirect
Ford Pro might be best known for its expansive Transit line-up, but the Ford Explorer Van – which has just landed at Vansdirect – is proof the company can turn its commercial vehicle expertise to a variety of models.
The electric Ford Explorer Van is among the latest generation of car-derived vans returning to Vansdirect that combine convenient practicality and useable payload with car-like dynamics and lavish features.
The Explorer Van is based on the roadgoing electric SUV, which comes complete with a responsive 79kWh battery that will return an immense 374-miles of range (WLTP) and is available with optional four-wheel drive.
Rapid charging up to 135kW will deliver a 10-80% charge in approximately 25-minutes.
It makes the Explorer Van the ideal answer to replace company pool cars or for those who would benefit from the added refinement when travelling longer distances but don’t need the excessive load carrying capacity.
Even so, the Explorer Van still offers up to 650kg of payload alongside its generous range potential, plus 1,200kg of towing capacity. Total load space is measured at 1,460-litres.
The conversion to a van sees a copolymer bulkhead fitted behind the front seats, plus lightweight but durable flat load floor with moveable dividers to help secure small items, as well as lashing points and panelled windows.
The Ford Explorer Van is available with the choice of four option packs:
- Wheel Pack: 19-inch steel wheels, wheel nut indicators, all-weather tyres
- Welfare Pack: First-aid kit, eye washing and hand sanitiser station
- Utility Pack: Frunk storage, roof rack, rear window security mesh, hard-wearing seat covers, front rubber floor mats
- Commercial Pack: amber lightbar, tailgate work lamp, tailgate beacons
Inside, the Explorer Van benefits from all of the lavish features that can be found in the standard model.
This includes the 14.6-inch portrait orientated infotainment touchscreen, plus a full suite of ADAS safety features.
