Can’t wait to get a glimpse of the new Vauxhall Vivaro? Vauxhall vans have given a strong indication of how it’ll look, with the reveal of the Vauxhall Vivaro Life MPV. Vansdirect takes a closer look!
The all-new Vauxhall Vivaro van for 2019 has officially been revealed, with Vauxhall vans revealing first images of the Vivaro Life, an MPV people carrier based on the new Vauxhall Vivaro panel van. As is the case with its predecessor, the new Vivaro van will be built in the UK at the brand’s plant in Luton.
The model it is replacing in the market has only been on sale since 2014 and whilst it is a rarity for a model to be replaced after just five years in the new van market, Vauxhall vans have since been acquired by PSA and hence the new model will share a platform with the Citroen Dispatch and Peugeot Expert vans and part ways with the Renault Trafic.
Concreate information surrounding the new Vivaro panel van is very limited at this stage, however its partnership with the Citroen Dispatch and Peugeot Expert can certainly allow us to speculate. There is likely that the new Vivaro will be available with 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre turbodiesel engines and a choice of three body lengths (despite the Vivaro Life only being available in two) with a solitary roof height.
We can also expect to see twin-sliding side doors as standard on the new Vivaro panel van and a host of on-board technology available including: autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and so much more!
A firm date for the Vivaro panel van is yet to be confirmed, however you can expect to see the new model at some point in the middle of 2019, whilst official images of the panel van version are set for release before the end of this month when we’ll also get further information. Vauxhall vans also announced recently that the new Vivaro would also be going electric, with production of the new Vauxhall Vivaro electric van set to start in 2020.
A rival for the Citroen SpaceTourer MPV which is based on the Citroen Dispatch, the Vivaro Life is offered in two sizes: medium (4.95 metres in length) and large (5.3 metres) both featuring the same 3.28 metre wheelbase and measuring the same as the medium and long versions of the Citroen Dispatch and Peugeot Expert panel vans.
The Vivaro Life offers versatility with all seating fitted on aluminum rails so they can be removed and adjusted when required, with configurations ranging from four up to nine seats. Fold the front passenger chair flat so that items up to 3.5-metres in length can be transported. With all the seating removed, total luggage capacity stands at 3,397, with Vauxhall vans boasting that each model has a maximum payload in excess of one tonne.
