Vansdirect Toasts 2025 BTCC Title-Winning Success with Team VERTU
Vansdirect-backed Team VERTU has reigned victorious in the British Touring Car Championship after Tom Ingram wrapped up the 2025 BTCC Drivers’ title at the Brands Hatch finale.
The 32-year-old successfully protected the comfortable points’ lead he held coming into the last of the year’s ten events to secure his second career BTCC title.
It’s also a second BTCC title for Vansdirect in its role as an official partner of Excelr8 Motorsport having supplied prominent support to Ingram en route to his 2022 BTCC success.
Ingram’s run to the 2025 BTCC title has been nothing short of extraordinary, the High Wycombe driver deftly combining performance with consistency from start-to-finish.
Scoring his first win of the season during Round 4 at Thruxton, Ingram succeeded in winning at least one race at each event for the remainder of the year. With just a single DNF to his name in 30 races, Ingram concluded the season having accumulated a superb 18 podiums.
Achieving his seventh win of the season at Brands Hatch – which fittingly coincided with his official coronation as champion in Race 2 - Ingram was relieved to finish the job in style.
“People seemed to think this was an easy weekend for us with the gap we had in the standings going in, but that couldn’t have been further from the truth,” he said.
“It’s actually been one of the most stressful weekends I’d say I’ve ever had, as I’ve not been the person leading into the final before and there was the pressure to not mess it up.
“If I’d locked up and stuck it in the gravel at Paddock Hill Bend in qualifying or race one, that could have changed everything so I had to be on my game, and to wrap it all up with a race win just makes it even more special.
“There is a feeling of relief, a feeling of satisfaction, a feeling of gratification - so many different feelings. I’ve never experienced the passion, enthusiasm and the want to win that I’ve seen in the whole team this year, and it all goes back to the fact we were out testing two weeks after the end of the 2024 season because we weren’t quite good enough.
“In a funny way, I’m almost sad that the season is over because it feels like this could be a once in a lifetime moment where everything has just come together and the stars have aligned - although I hope we can have a similar season next year!
“The car has been an absolute weapon, the team has been outrageous and it’s a special moment to share this with some amazing friends, and with some amazing fans. I can't thank everyone involved enough.”
As well as Ingram’s Driver’s Championship win, Excelr8 Motorsport/VERTU claimed the Constructors/Manufacturers title, while it was just two points shy of winning the Teams’ title to complete an unprecedented triple at the end of the operation’s most successful season ever.
