Renault Group Acquires Full Ownership of Flexis Van Project
The Renault Group will assume full ownership of Flexis, a brand-new commercial vehicle brand that will launch in late 2026 with its version of the brand-new Renault Trafic E-Tech.
Flexis had been created as part of a co-operation between the Renault Group, Volvo Group and shipping logistics giant CMA CGM with a view to creating an all-electric commercial vehicle operation specialising in last-mile delivery solutions.
The brand was officially launched in 2024 and the first models announced as being Flexis-badged versions of three upcoming Renault models – the Trafic E-Tech, Estafette and Goelene.
However, as the project enters its next phase of development, it has been confirmed that the Renault Group – which held a 45% stake in the company – would acquire the respective 45% and 10% stakes held by the Volvo Group and CMG CGM to assume full ownership.
In a statement, the Renault Group insisted the change in governance doesn’t impact the ‘product ambition or the original industrial plan’ for Flexis, with plans to introduce its first model – based on the Trafic E-Tech – on track for the end of 2026/early 2027.
While the new Renault Trafic E-Tech will be offered through traditional Renault channels, the Flexis version will be distributed by Renault Trucks and – by way of a long-standing association – Volvo Group (trucks).
