Iveco eJolly and Iveco eSuperJolly Expands Brand's LCV Range
Iveco has revealed two new electric models as part of an expansion for its light commercial vehicle (LCV) range with the introduction of the Stellantis-built Iveco eJolly and Iveco eSuperJolly.
The two models had been anticipated after Iveco confirmed earlier in the year that it had agreed a deal to collaborate with Stellantis - parent company of fellow LCV market stalwarts Peugeot, Citroen, Vauxhall/Opel and FIAT – to produce new entries into the Medium and Large Van segments.
Where Iveco’s models differ from their siblings is the fact they will only be offered with electric power with both models utilising the battery powertrain developed by Stellantis for its models.
It means the Iveco eJolly [pictured above] comes with the choice of a 49kWh battery offering 140 miles of range, or a 75kWh version capable of up to 219 miles.
The larger Iveco eSuperJolly [pictured below], meanwhile, makes use of a 110kWh high-density battery capable of up to 261 miles.
Much like its Stellantis counterparts, the eJolly and eSuperJolly are almost identical to their siblings in terms of dimensions, specifications and interior design.
This means both models boast figures which challenge the best in class, including up to 5.8 cubic metres of load space available for the eJolly, while the eSuperJolly manages up to 17 cubic metres in its largest guise.
Visually, both models get unique front-end treatments with ‘IVECO’ branding featuring prominently on the nose.
One unique benefit that the eJolly and eSuperJolly will capitalise on, however, is Iveco’s extensive dealership and servicing network.
Created to assist with rapid turnarounds for its heavy-goods vehicles, they will also be made available for maintenance of the eJolly and eSuperJolly.
Will The Iveco eJolly and eSuperJolly Come To UK?
While it isn’t yet clear whether Iveco will go on to offer these models in the UK, the likelihood is they have been introduced to help reduce the manufacturer’s average carbon emissions output across the range and therefore allows it to meet mandated government targets.
Indeed, as it stands the Italian marque offers only a single LCV model – the Iveco Daily – which exists in a similar marketspace to the new eSuperJolly.
However, the Iveco Daily is also designated as a heavy-duty LCV with some models offering a mammoth 7.2 gross vehicle weight, while its tipper and dropside models have proven especially popular in the construction industry.
Iveco does offer one other electric commercial vehicle on the continent in the shape of the Hyundai Staria-based Iveco eMoovy.
