Hands-on with the new Peugeot Expert and Citroen Dispatch!

Hands-on with the new Peugeot Expert and Citroen Dispatch!

We've all heard of the new Peugeot Expert and new Citroen Dispatch vans, today at Vansdirect we go hands-on with both new vans and share our experience with you!

Introduction to the new Peugeot Expert and Citroen Dispatch

Both built on a brand-new vehicle platform, the new Peugeot Expert and Citroen Dispatch vans are unique in this way from their competition in the medium vans segment. All of the other medium vans currently on sale are adaptations or modifications of previous models in their ranges. The new platform allows for the New Peugeot Expert to cater for a class leading payload of 1400kg across the range.

At Vansdirect we got hands-on with the new Peugeot Expert Professional Long and Citroen Dispatch Enterprise M vans. Both are essentially the same van, the new models have taken away the different van heights and have a standard height of 1.9 metres. This height means that the new Peugeot Expert and Citroen Dispatch can accommodate the majority of car parks.

Both vans are available in three lengths (two of which were on display at Vansdirect today) and despite being different in name, dimensions are identical. The new Citroen Dispatch is available in XS, M and XL models and the new Peugeot Expert is available in Compact, Standard and Long.

Features of the new Peugeot Expert and Citroen Dispatch

Standard on the Professional and Enterprise models that we viewed today is: a seven-inch touchscreen that you can link up to your smartphone via USB. The phone's display is mirrored through the touchscreen so that you can use Google Maps or Spotify on the go! The central armrest (or middle seat) integrates a pivoting table with an elastic retainer, perfect for holding your laptop or tablet. Rear parking sensors are also standard on both new vans, as is air conditioning, we were particularly grateful for this feature today!

Loadspace of the new Peugeot Expert and Citroen Dispatch

The passenger bench on both new vans contains a load-through facility in the full-steel bulkhead. On the new Peugeot Expert Long, this enables objects in excess of 4 metres to be carried, this does however mean that the outside passenger seat is out of action when this is fully in use. However, for loads up to 3 metres, they simply clip below the seat and it can still be used!

Peugeot and Citroen believe the shape of the new vans makes it perfect for sign-writing, in conjunction with this, they believe the uniform shape will appeal particularly to people who carry lots of pallets and boards, as they will be safe in the knowledge that these will not be damaged when driving.

Accessibility of the new Peugeot Expert and Citroen Dispatch

Finally both thenew Peugeot Expert and Citroen Dispatch new vans are fitted with sliding side doors and rear doors that fully open to make the process of loading and unloading the vans as convenient and easy as possible.
