Ford E-Transit Courier Gets Range Boost, Faster Recharging
The Ford E-Transit Courier has gained a series of minor but welcome upgrades for 2026 with a new larger battery eking out 10% range and allowing for Pro Power Onboard to be included for the first time.
The smallest model in Ford Pro’s four-strong Transit van range, the Ford Transit Courier is available with a full house of petrol, diesel and electric options.
For 2026, Ford has focused on the E-Transit Courier with both hardware and software updates headlined by the 43kWh battery being swapped out for a 46kWh one.
Though only a small increase in size, it does allow for a decent 10 per cent boost in electric range from 181-miles to 207-miles, putting it almost on a par with the Citroen e-Berlingo (213-miles), while exceeding that of the Renault Kangoo E-Tech (186-miles).
It is the only small electric van in Ford’s range as the slightly larger Ford Transit Connect, which also occupies the small van space, is only available as a Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV).
The move to a larger battery also means the Ford E-Transit Courier can accommodate Pro Power Onboard, which enables a 400w system to act as a battery. As such, it is possible to power tools and equipment on the go using a 230-volt AC socket in the dashboard.
Other changes include a slightly quicker charging system with approximately 71-miles worth of battery being replenished in just 10-minutes using a rapid 100kW DC charger.
It is now also possible to pre-condition the van while it is still charging, such as warming/cooling the interior and demisting the windows, while it’ll also improve the efficiency in the battery to return better range.
Finally, the E-Transit Courier gets an updated Driver Alert System to better detect moments of impairment, such as drowsiness, distraction or a sudden medical incident.
