Electric Kia PV5 Cargo Lands Major Double Award Win

Electric Kia PV5 Cargo Lands Major Double Award Win

The all-new Kia PV5 Cargo has secured its first industry award wins after scooping a double prize at the annual Parkers Van of the Year ceremony.

The all-electric PV5 Cargo represents Kia’s first entry into the hotly contested commercial vehicle market, yet is already garnering some impressive acclaim from the motoring press.

Offering a 258-mile range from its 71.2kWh Long Range battery, the PV5 Cargo straddles the small and medium van segments in terms of dimensions with its relatively short but tall profile.

Brimming with cutting-edge technology and competitive payload, the PV5 Cargo has also been celebrated for its striking design and premium interior compared with more utilitarian commercial vehicles.

They are traits that have earned the attention of Parkers, who also praised its seven-year warranty and attractive pricing as the Kia PV5 Cargo was announced as Electric Van of the Year and overall 2026 Van of the Year.

Parkers Vans Editor Tom Webster said: “The Kia PV5 has arrived with a proposition that will really make buyers, and rivals, sit up and take notice.

“It is priced at such a level that it is a more attractive prospect than smaller, older, diesel rivals, meaning it has managed to address many of the barriers that buyers are facing when it comes to going electric.

“Add in Kia’s comprehensive dealer network and that long manufacturer warranty and this is just the sort of move that the customers need to help them make the step towards EV commercial vehicles.

“If you are going to launch into a new area of the market then you need to grab attention and Kia has certainly done just that.”

Triple Victory for Ford

Elsewhere, Ford were also the big winners from the ceremony after picking up wins in the Small Van, Medium Van and Pick-Up Truck categories.

The Ford Transit Courier secured success in the small van class, beating the likes of the Citroen Berlingo and Ford Transit Connect, while the top-selling Ford Transit Custom retained its title as Best Medium Van.

The similarly popular Ford Ranger took victory as the Best Pick-Up Truck, but this year does so with its new plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Beyond Kia and Ford, Renault also picked up a prize with last year’s overall Van of the Year, the Renault Master, maintaining its Best Large Van honour.
