BiK-friendly KGM Rexton CV Lands at Vansdirect
Vansdirect is strengthening its KGM range with the introduction of a commercial vehicle based on the lavishly appointed KGM Rexton SUV.
The KGM Rexton CV joins the tough KGM Musso pick-up truck in Vansdirect’s line-up as an alternative car-derived van that blurs the lines between a commercial vehicle and a standard SUV.

While you’d be hard-pressed to spot the Rexton’s commercial-oriented leanings on an exterior that – with its bold signature chrome grille and multi-spoke alloy wheels - is all-but-unchanged from the passenger-carrying model, opening the rear doors reveals its different persona.
Indeed, the Rexton CV is a strict two-seater with KGM removing the rearmost seats, adding a bulkhead and blacking out the windows for security.

The result is an unobstructed and vast 2,200-litre cargo bay that can accommodate a Euro pallet, while payload is listed at a competitive 700kg.
Better yet, the Rexton CV maintains the same utilitarian workhorse traits that have earned the SUV a loyal following in the UK, namely its body-on-frame construction, which improves rigidity on the move.
As such, the Rexton CV can tow a full 3500kg, while its selectable all-wheel drive with low ratio setting makes it supremely capable off-road.

KGM Rexton CV Eligible Under BiK Rules
With the move to reclassify the tax rules for double cab pick-up trucks – many of which are derived from SUV running gear – there has been a revival of the car-derived van as a way to swerve higher monthly outgoings..
Right now, pick-up trucks boasting four/five seats being categorised as family cars, thus consigning double cab models to company car tax regulations – including the KGM Musso.
By contrast, the KGM Rexton CV's two seats allow it to be considered under BIK (Benefit-In-Kind) rules. This means it is eligible for capital write-down and has a first-year VED of £345.
Other car-derived entrants include the Dacia Duster Commercial and Skoda Enyaq Commercial, while the Isuzu D-Max pick-up truck – and the upcoming Mitsubishi L200 – have been converted to turning the rear-seats into a secondary load area to be reclassified as two-seaters.
