Foster makes final ten for Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Award

A memorable 2019 for Vansdirect sponsored racer Louis Foster has continued with the youngster being selected as one of the ten candidates for the prestigious 2019 Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Award, Vansdirect reveals all!

 

2019 Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Award

Originating in 1989, the prestigious award aims to find the best junior British racing drivers. Previous winners of the award include the likes of David Coulthard, Jenson Button, Gary Paffett and Lando Norris. Joining the Award this year are Aston Martin with the prize for the 2019 winner includes a £200,000 prize towards the winner's racing development and a test drive with the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team.

 

Vansdirect sponsored Foster has excelled so far in his debut campaign in single seaters with Double R racing in the British F4 championship where he currently occupies third position in the overall standings thanks to nine podiums and three race victories.

 

The Double R Racing driver is the youngest of the ten candidates for this year's award by some margin. Joining the Vansdirect sponsored racer in this year's top ten are: Japanese F3 race winner Enaam Ahmed, Formula Reginal Europe racer Olli Caldwell, W Series champion Jamie Chadwick, BRDC F3 front runners Johnathon Hoggard, Ayrton Simmons and Kiern Jewiss, Euroformula Open race winner Billy Monger and fellow British F4 competitors Josh Skelton and Luke Browning.

 

The top ten are due to attend a BRDC event next month where the shortlisted final four will be announced. The final four will then undertake a two-day assessment at Silverstone in a range of machinery including MotorSport Vision Formula 2 cars, a Ligier LMP3 sportscar and Aston Martin Vantage GT3 racers, the winner will then be announced at the Autosport Awards on December 8th 2019.
