Volkswagen Transporter Kombi Adds Crew Van To New-Gen Range
The Volkswagen Transporter line-up has grown to include a Crew Van for the first time since the latest generation model was launched earlier in the year.
The seventh-generation Transporter – which shares its underpinnings with the Ford Transit Custom – hit the streets at the start of 2025 offering greater versatility and more smart-connected tech than its predecessor.
Now the range has been expanded to feature the VW Transporter Kombi, which aims to combine the practicality of a spacious van with the flexibility of a five-seat passenger vehicle.
It sees the Transporter gain a rear-bench seat for three passengers, increasing the number of vehicle occupants to at least five. However, there are also options to include a bench front-seat too, allowing you to carry six passengers in total.
The Transporter Kombi will be available in SWB (small wheelbase – 3100mm) and LWB (long wheelbase – 3500mm) guise, with the former offering 1632mm of load length at the floor, while the latter extends this to 2032mm.
The dimensions of the side sliding door, meanwhile, remains the same as the panel van at 1030mm.
The 2025 Volkswagen Transporter Kombi crew van will be offered across two trim levels – Commerce Plus and Commerce Pro – and with the option of a turbodiesel engine or electric powertrain.
On the diesel front, the Transporter Kombi can be equipped with a 110PS, 150PS or 170PS 2.0-litre turbodiesel, or a 65kWh battery generating either 136PS, 218PS or 286PS in power.
