New Vauxhall Vivaro van makes debut at CV Show 2019

New Vauxhall Vivaro van makes debut at CV Show 2019

The wait is over, the new Vauxhall Vivaro van has been revealed and made its world debut at the CV Show in Birmingham on 30th April 2019 - Vansdirect reveals all!

New Vauxhall Vivaro 2019 model

Recently we brought you the news and images of the Vivaro being revealed in MPV form, now Vauxhall vans have revealed the finished product, introducing the all-new Vauxhall Vivaro van!

New Vauxhall Vivaro - Best of British

With the economic uncertainty associated with the current political goings on, Vauxhall vans were quick to point out and just like its predecessor, the all-new Vivaro van will be built in the brand's plant in Luton, thus securing a total of 1250 jobs.

New EMP2 platform

For the new Vivaro van, the collaboration with Renault vans and the Renault Trafic is no more, instead the Vivaro moves over to a new EMP2 platform made by the PSA group who took over Vauxhall vans in 2017. The Vivaro won't be unique in using this platform, it will be shared with PSA sister vans in the form of the Citroen Dispatch, Peugeot Expert and also the Toyota Proace.

Choice of models

The new Vivaro van will be available in two van lengths: short wheelbase which is 4.95 metres in length and long wheelbase which is 5.3 metres in length. These van lengths equal the two largest models in the Citroen Dispatch, Peugeot Expert and Toyota Proace van ranges all of which have three variants, with Vauxhall vans interestingly opting against a third more compact van size for the new Vivaro. Like its sister vans, the Vivaro will be available with one roof height, whilst there will be a range of body types including panel van, doublecab and platform chassis.

The new Vivaro will be available in three trim levels: Edition, Sportive and Elite. For the first time all versions will come as standard with a dual side sliding door, drive/passenger airbags and cruise control with a speed-limiter.

Vauxhall vans have boasted that new Vivaro Sportive models will come with a higher specification than the model it is replacing, with all of the following as standard features: body coloured mirrors, handles and body side moulds, alarm, automatic lights and wipers, acoustic windscreen and thickened side glazing.

New top of the range elite models will come loaded with standard safety features which will include: lane departure warning, speed limit information, intelligent speed monitor, driver attention alert and blind spot detection.

Carrying capacity

Maximum payload capacity of new Vivaro models is up 200kg to 1,400kg, with a maximum load capacity of 6.6 cubic metres. Towing capacity has also increased on the all-new model by 500kg to 2,500kg.

New Vauxhall Vivaro - when can we get our hands on it?

The new Vivaro model will join the UK market in the summer of 2019, with an all-electric Vivaro model set to follow in 2020.
