Vauxhall vans have updated the largest van in their range, the Vauxhall Movano. A new look and improved safety technology are amongst the highlights, our team of new van experts at Vansdirect take a closer look!
New Vauxhall Movano van
A new Vauxhall Movano van has joined the large vans market with a sharper appearance and upgraded safety equipment to take the safety of the large van to another level. The new Vauxhall Movano is available in numerous body styles to suit the different requirements of businesses, as this is a facelift and not a complete overhaul, load volume remains the same as the previous model.
The smaller vans in the Vauxhall vans range, the new Vauxhall Combo and new Vauxhall Vivaro vans are now built in line with other vans from the PSA Peugeot Citroen group, whilst the latest Movano is a facelift of the existing van which is built alongside the new Renault Master. The facelifted Vauxhall Movano van gets a new front end and sharper lights with a LED signature similar to that found on the Vauxhall car range. Dominating the grille of the new Vauxhall van is a huge Griffin badge, with a chrome strip leading from it to the lights of the van. New styling updates finish with new tail-light clusters at the rear of the van.
What cabin updates have been made to the new Vauxhall vans?
Where the new Vauxhall Movano has seen the most comprehensive of updates is in the cab, with a host of new safety and connectivity kit. Vauxhall's Intellilink 5.0 nav system is now available on the new Vauxhall van. The system incorporates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, whilst wireless phone charging is also available for the first time.
New safety technology includes a new rear-vision camera which shows live images onto a 7-inch touchscreen where you'd normally find the rear view mirror. There's also lane departure warning and blind spot alerts to help keep the Vauxhall Movano on the road, whilst all models now come with side wind assist as part of the stability control system, helping the large van stay stable when exposed to cross winds.
Comfort in the cabin is improved over the outgoing model, with optional comfort seats with adjustable lumbar support for driver and passenger, there's also a truck-style air-cushioned driver's seat available for drivers who take on longer distances on a daily basis.
What versions of the new Vauxhall vans will be available?
The new Vauxhall vans are available as a panel vans or chassis cabs, in no fewer than four lengths and three heights. The largest model in the range has the capability of carrying five Europallets, whilst maximum payload stands at 2.1-tonnes and maximum load volume stands at 17.0 cubic metres.
An all-new version of the large Vauxhall van is expected in 2022 at which point the new Vauxhall Movano van will switch to the same platform as the all new Peugeot Boxer and all new Citroen Relay which are expected to join the market at the same time.
