Mitsubishi Confirms Return to the UK in 2026
Mitsubishi has announced it will begin selling models in the UK once again after securing a vehicle importer and distributor.
The Japanese firm only exited Europe – including the UK market - in 2020 as part of a major cost-saving strategy and reorganisation but has confirmed it will be beating a path back to the continent just six years later.
Mitsubishi’s return to Europe had already been confirmed, but news of a deal with IM Group to act as importer and distributor has sealed its UK comeback for summer 2026 too.
While no models for the relaunch have been confirmed, there is a strong chance Mitsubishi’s line-up will include its hugely popular L200 pick-up truck.
The L200 was a lynchpin of the former Mitsubishi range and held firm as the best-selling pick-up truck for several years, while it is considered the driving force behind the transformation of the segment away from commercial into lifestyle vehicles.

The model remains on sale in other markets – including the US and Australia – where it is known as the Triton [pictured above], ultimately smoothing the path for a return to the UK.
Mitsubishi – which is part of an alliance with Renault and Nissan – is understood to have secured more than 100 sites for retailers, many of which are currently already designated as handling aftersales and customer service for those still driving its models.
