CV Show 2020 preview - everything you need to know
The UK's biggest new van and pickup truck event is on its way, our new van experts at Vansdirect preview what to expect from all the main manufacturers of new vans at the CV Show 2020, including the likes of the new Vauxhall e-Vivaro! Here's what we can look forward to!
CV Show 2020
The largest event in the new van industry is set to take place between the 28th and 30th of April 2020 at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham and will feature different exhibitors in their hundreds including many of the biggest names in new vans displaying new innovations and products, as well as yours truly, Vansdirect who are exhibiting at the show for the very first time! More than 20,000 visitors are again expected to enter the doors at this year's event, here are some of the highlights we expect to see!
Citroen vans
Citroen vans sprung a surprise at last year's CV Show with the reveal of the new Citroen Relay electric van, however it will be its smaller sibling which is expected to take centre stage at the 2020 event. The new Citroen Dispatch electric van will get its world debut ahead of joining the market later on in 2020.
Fiat vans
Fiat vans are likely to give UK public debuts to the recently facelifted Fiat Talento and Fiat Ducato vans at this year's show, we may also get to see the new Fiat Ducato electric van for the very first time.
Ford vans
Again taking pride of place at the entrance to the show, Ford vans are said to be displaying no fewer than 26 vans at the CV Show 2020, more than ever before! Their stand is set to feature zones which demonstrate electric van technology and connectivity, as well as a selection of new van variants which haven't previously been seen.
Isuzu vans
There are no firm details as of yet from Isuzu vans, however the brand usually shows a range of converted Isuzu D-Max pickups with the odd surprise pickup launch, these included the Isuzu D-Max XTR last year.
LEVC vans
A name you may not recognise and a new exhibitor for 2020, the London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) which builds the latest London taxi will be showing its new plug-in hybrid electric van in public for the very first time.
MAN vans
As usual MAN will display trucks and vans on their stand, with the highlight likely to be right hand drive versions of the MAN eTGE van. The large electric van is a close relative of the VW Crafter but beats the VW van to the UK market in terms of electric drivetrain.
Mitsubishi vans
There will be a UK show debut for the new Mitsubishi L200 Series 6 pickup truck, which only joined the UK market at the back end of 2019. There will be a selection of models on display at the 2020 show, there'll also be commercial 4x4 versions of the Mitsubishi Shogun Sport and Outlander PHEV on display.
Nissan vans
No official confirmation from Nissan vans as of yet, however it is almost certain that the new Nissan Navara pickup truck will be on display, you'd also expect the new Nissan NV250 to be on display which replaces the Nissan NV200 in the range and is based on the Renault Kangoo and Mercedes Citan vans.
Peugeot vans
Peugeot vans will be showing their new electric van at the CV Show 2020, the new Peugeot e-Expert will be on display alongside the equivalent vans from Citroen vans and Vauxhall vans. Also expect more information on the Peugeot e-Partner and Peugeot e-Boxer vans.
Renault vans
Renault vans return to the CV Show in 2020 after missing it in 2019 with the theme of the stand being very similar to other manufacturers, electric vans. Whilst other companies may just be talking about electric vans, Renault vans have been offering these for years. There'll also be UK show debuts for the facelifted Renault Trafic and Renault Master vans.
Toyota vans
The highlight of the Toyota vans stand is likely to be the new Toyota Proace City, a small van based on the Citroen Berlingo, Vauxhall Combo and Peugeot Partner vans, the new Toyota van was previewed in 2019 and is expected to join the market in coming months.
Vauxhall vans
Vauxhall vans will be displaying an electric version of the Vauxhall Vivaro van for the very first time. The new Vauxhall Vivaro-e van is expected to be on sale by the end of 2020, we may also hear more about the possibility of a Vauxhall e-Combo small van. Despite the Vauxhall Movano van sharing a platform with the Renault Master van which is available with an electric powertrain, we are not expecting an electric version of the Movano van.
VW vans
The CV Show 2020 will see the UK show debut for the new VW Transporter T6.1. The facelifted medium van is now available in the UK and the NEC will be the first chance for many to see the new VW van. The new VW e-Transporter van will also be on display, this is expected in the UK by the end of 2020, there's also plans to display a number of customer vans to demonstrate what can do for your business.
