The wait for the all new Vauxhall Vivaro vans to join the market is over, at Vansdirect we are now taking orders on the all new medium van!
The all-new Vauxhall Vivaro van is finally here, the British-built van secures a massive 1,250 jobs at the Vauxhall vans manufacturing plant in Luton. The new model parts ways with the Renault Trafic and is instead based on the PSA Group’s EMP2 platform shared with the award winning Citroen Dispatch, Peugeot Expert and Toyota Proace vans.
There’s a choice two body styles to choose from on new Vivaro vans: panel van and double cab whilst the new model also equals the class leading payload set by its sister vans of 1,400kg, also boasting a towing capacity of 2,500kg, 200kg and 500kg higher respectively than its predecessor. Access to the load area is made easy on the new Vauxhall vans by rear doors which open to 180 degrees and twin-sliding side doors.
Like the model it is has replaced in the medium vans market, the all new Vauxhall Vivaro van is available in two lengths: short or long wheelbase, with the longer model boasting a load capacity of 6.6 cubic metres. A load-through flap beneath the passenger seat gives the long wheelbase Vauxhall Vivaro van the ability to transport longer objects up to 4.02 metres in length on Sportive models and above. Whilst the cabin of the new Vauxhall van can be transformed into your mobile office with the middle seat folding down to create a table so that you can fill in crucial paperwork when you get five minutes free from a job.
The new Vauxhall Vivaro van moves forward significantly in terms of technology, starting with a head-up display, also included are features such as: a new traction control system, lane-keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, driver drowsiness alert, forward collision assist and automatic emergency braking. Which of these features your receive as standard depends on your choice of spec between: Edition, Sportive and new top of the range Elite models.
Other updates which Vauxhall vans have included over the previous Vauxhall Vivaro van include: optional automatic sliding doors which are operated by kicking your foot under the sills of the van, seven-inch infotainment system, parking sensors, optional rear-view camera and optional work-site set-up with higher ground clearance and underbody protection.
All engine options on the new Vauxhall Vivaro van are approved to Euro 6.2 emissions standards. There’s two 1.5-litre diesel engine options delivering 100ps or 120ps and three 2.0-litre diesel engines with outputs of 120ps, 150ps or 180ps. All models come as standard with a six-speed manual transmission apart from the 180ps engine which gets an eight-speed automatic transmission, from 2020 the automatic option will also be made available with the 2.0-litre 120ps engine.
