Fiat’s first ever pick-up, the new Fullback, is to make its UK debut at next week’s Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC in Birmingham.
The pick-up sector is growing, with UK sales up 18% and full year registrations reaching almost 40,000 units in 2015.
First shown at the Dubai International Motor Show last year, the new Fiat Fullback looks set to rock the pick-up sector with its strong and reliable construction.
The new pick-up will make up Fiat’s new range, and along with the new Talento and Fiorino, will be available from June 2016. British buyers will get the option of a double cab model, making the new Fullback perfectly suited for both commercial and leisure activity.
Standing 1780mm tall, 1815mm wide and 5285mm long with a wheelbase of 3000mm, the new Fiat Fullback offers a payload of up to 1045kg, in line with its rivals. There will be a choice of two 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engines with power outputs of either 150PS or 180PS.
Transmission comes in the form of a new six-speed manual gearbox or alternatively, a five-speed automatic transmission which includes ‘Sport mode’. No matter which you choose, both gearboxes will be combined with a full four wheel drive system.
Britain will get a choice of two trim levels, with pricing and specifications to be announced nearer the launch of the new Fullback in June.
Ricky McFarland, country manager Fiat Professional UK, said: “The new Fullback provides us with an exciting opportunity in the growing pick-up truck segment and together with the arrival of the new Talento and new Fiorino models in June, joining the rest of the award-winning Fiat Professional range, we are confident of attracting new fleets and retail customers by providing them with one of the strongest product line-ups in the market today.”
