Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP II revealed
Mitsubishi vans have revealed the new Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP II pick-up. The L200 Barbarian SVP II is the second new pick-up developed under Mitsubishi's new Special Vehicle Projects (SVP).
Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP II
Based on the iconic Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian Double cab, there will be limited models of the new pick-up van produced, with only 250 models heading for the UK, each model will enjoy a host of exclusive design modifications. The upgrades are primarily in style with the L200, using the same four-wheel drive system and four-cylinder engine from standard Barbarian models. Half of the 250 will be offered finished in pearlescent Diamond Black paint, whereas the other 125 will be offered in metallic grey.
What extra features does the Barbarian SVP II have?
The SVP II certainly catches the eye with a range of standard features above top spec Barbarian models, including: Bespoke 17 inch black and orange alloy wheels, bolt-on bubble wide wheelarch extensions, a special SVP grille and BF Goodrich all-terrain tyres. Black and orange is a common theme, with the grille and roof rails also finished in these two colours as well as the fog light rings, door handle covers and tailgate handle surrounds.
What about the interior?
The interior of the new Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP II will also follow the same orange and black theme, with a whole host of SVP logos also featuring throughout the new pick-up, including being stitched into the headrests alongside the individual pick-up number. The SVP II will also get a plethora of standard equipment, including: Smartphone Link Display Audio system, automatic headlights, keyless drive, bluetooth, xenon headlights, reversing camera and cruise control.
What about performance?
Like the standard 135ps Mitsubishi L200, the new SVP II will boast an advertised fuel economy of 39.8 miles to the gallon when linked to a six-speed manual transmission, this will decrease slightly to 37.7 miles to the gallon with the six-speed automatic. The 0-62 miles per hour time remains at 10.4 seconds, whereas all models of the SVP can cater for payloads of at least one-tonne.
