The Mercedes-Benz Vito is a Medium Van offered in two different body styles – L2 and L3 – plus Crew Van configuration, which is available in L2 and L3 guise.
The dimensions of the Mercedes-Benz Vito begin with the L2 at 5140mm and rises to 5370mm for the larger L3 version, while the L2 and L3 Crew Van share the same external measurements as the Panel Van versions.
The Vito differs from other models in the Medium Van segment by eschewing an L1 body style in favour of L2 and L3 configurations.
As such, the Vito in L2 size is larger than most L1 vans in the segment, while the L3 bridges the margin in size between a medium and large van.
At the rear, the Vito panel van features 180-degree barn-style doors, while the Crew Van features a lifted tailgate, plus a full-length partition and twin side doors that slide open between 822mm and 904mm.
The Vito L2 offers a generous 2831mm in terms of load length, rising to 3061mm in the larger L3 model.
This translates to 6.0 cubic metres of overall load space volume for the L2, while the L3 has 6.6 cubic metres of cargo space. This is reduced to 3.6 and 4.1 cubic metres for the Crew Van versions due to having a rear bench of seats.

The Mercedes-Benz Vito Panel Van L2 is available with the choice of two 2.0-litre turbodiesel engines (114 and 116) and has a payload capacity ranging between 819kg and 905kg, while the L3 ranges from 792kg to 878kg.
The Crew Van is available with the choice of two 2.0-litre turbodiesel engines (116 and 119) and payload capacities range from 740kg and 791kg.
The 66kWh Electric eVito is offered in L2 and L3 guise with a payload of 783kg to 794kg.
The Mercedes-Benz Vito's towing capacity amounts to up to 2500kg (braked) on all turbodiesel variants.
However, the electric Mercedes-Benz eVito is not permitted for towing according to the manufacturer.
