Fiat is updating its Fiorino small van with a range of styling and mechanical improvements.
Appearing for the first time on the New Fiorino are EcoJet diesel engines, which feature fuel-saving technologies such as start/stop, a smart alternator and a variable displacement oil pump. The facelifted van will be available with a choice of three Euro6 engines; a 1.4-litre 75ps petrol unit and two 1.3-litre turbo diesel engines with two outputs – 80ps and 95ps.
The EcoJet engine, when paired with Fiat’s ‘Comfort-matic’ transmission, cuts CO2 emissions to 100g/km while achieving a claimed 74.3mpg. Fiat state that the EcoJet engine is 14% more economical than its counterparts.
The latest Fiorino will feature a restyled front bumper that brings it in line with the rest of Fiat’s van range. However, it will retain the high-mounted headlamps for improved visibility – Fiat claims that they are less likely to be damaged by parking errors.
New 15-inch wheel covers and 15-inch alloy wheels complete the exterior changes.
Interior changes include a redesigned steering wheel that can be configured with remote audio controls and leather trim. The instrument cluster features new graphics and permanent backlighting while the dashboard is improved with the addition of a new storage compartment.
Another brand-new feature of the Fiat Fiorino is a five-inch colour touchscreen infotainment system incorporating Bluetooth, USB/Aux-in, satnav and DAB radio.
The new Fiorino will open for ordering in mid-April 2016 and will be in showrooms in June.
