Fiat e-Scudo Electric Van Review 2024

Proactive and versatile, the Fiat e-Scudo is a well-rounded electric van that does all the multi-tasking for you.

Fiat e-Scudo driving range

The Fiat e-Scudo is available with two battery options, depending on your business needs. The 50kWh battery offers up to 143 miles (WLTP), while the larger 75kWh battery offers up to 205 miles (WLTP).

The larger battery recently proved its potential after it helped one e-Scudo to set a Guinness World Record, driving 311 miles on a single charge. It made the 13-hour journey from Cambridgeshire to Northamptonshire without running out of juice.

So if you’re looking for an electric van that can go the distance, the Fiat e-Scudo is definitely one to have on your list.

Fiat e-Scudo power, performance, and drive

Driving the Fiat e-Scudo won’t just benefit the environment, but also your driving experience.

With a fully electric powertrain, you’ll enjoy a smoother, quieter drive with only the quiet hum of the electric motor. A top speed of up to 130km/h (around 80 mph) means you don’t have to compromise on performance either.

The 100kW motor produces up to 136hp and 260Nm torque, providing a more refined, responsive drive. With no clutch or gearbox, driving the e-Scudo will feel seamless and stress-free, where stop/start traffic doesn’t have to be tiresome.

Enhancing your drive even further are three driving modes – Normal, Eco, and Sport. These tailor the response and driving range according to your preferences.

Grip control is also available as an option, which brings you access to five additional modes – Asphalt, Snow, Sand, Mud, and ESP OFF. For maximum stability and control whatever the conditions.

Fiat e-Ducato cabin and interior

The Fiat e-Ducato is based on a pre-facelift version of the Fiat Ducato. This gives a more minimalistic and simplified interior, though that’s not to say it’s not practical.

In the driver’s cabin, you’ll enjoy a comfortable driving position with good visibility. The cloth upholstery seat is height-adjustable for added comfort. Plus, there’s a handy cup holder to keep your coffee close at hand.

The driver’s seat also features in-built lumbar support to keep you comfy during longer periods behind the wheel. The armrest will also come in handy when you find the chance for a quick break.

With the rake-adjustable steering wheel, you can create the perfect setup. This also houses multiple radio controls enabling you to easily switch between stations on the go.

In the load space area, you’ll find LED interior lighting which will come in handy for loading and unloading in low light conditions.

It may keep things simple, although the Fiat e-Ducato offers a perfectly functional interior designed to aid your workday.

Overall, the Fiat e-Scudo understands the need for a smooth, easy drive and efficient performance. Intuitive and dynamic, it offers an electric van that is primed for power and responsive to your needs.

Fiat e-Scudo cabin and interior

Inside the Fiat e-Scudo, you can expect car-like levels of comfort and convenience. The comfortable driving position is aided by a fully-adjustable driver’s seat with in-built lumbar support. On colder days, you’ll love the heated seat function to help keep you and your crew warm.

The ergonomic set up with the driver’s armrest ensures you can sit comfortably behind the wheel, however long the journey. Multiple configurations allow you to create your own mobile office, with a fold-down table top in the dual passenger seat bench. Perfect for when you need to catch up on some paperwork or enjoy a quick lunchbreak.

With the Magic Cargo system, the far passenger seat can be raised to provide more load-through space for longer items. This extends the loading area to up to 3.67m in the standard version and 4.02m in the Maxi version.

There’s also a hidden storage compartment included to store workday essentials. Alternatively, you can choose to have individual seats if you prefer.

Speaking of storage, the Fiat e-Scudo offers other functional compartments for your convenience. There’s upper central storage, large cupholders on both sides, and a larger storage space in the central panel. Here, you can store two smartphones safely, with up to two wireless chargers available as an option (one as standard).

With a range of accessories, you can personalise your e-Scudo’s interior even further. Add dedicated seat covers to protect seats from fading, a tablet holder, aluminium roof carrier, and more. To protect your interior, there are a range of options courtesy of Mopar solutions, including storage modules.

If you’re looking for an electric van that offers a practical, multi-functional interior, the Fiat e-Scudo will surely hit the mark.

Taking safety seriously, the Fiat e-Scudo also offers up to 13 active and passive safety features. These are designed to make sure you, your passengers, and any other road users are kept safe. Traffic Sign Recognition makes sure you’re traveling at the speed limit, while Lane Departure Warning keeps you in lane.

Other features include Advanced Emergency Braking, a rearview camera on the 10” display. This will help you manoeuvre safely wherever you are, whether you’re preparing to park up and unload or navigating tight city streets.

Fiat e-Scudo running cost and value

Given you’ll be saving every year on road tax and congestion zone charges, the Fiat e-Scudo will be relatively cheap to run.

After the initial cost, the only costs you’ll need to factor in are charging, maintenance, and servicing. Starting with charging, you can save on your electricity costs by scheduling charging to take place during off-peak times.

As for maintenance and servicing, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find savings here too. Like many other electric vans, the Fiat e-Scudo contains fewer moving parts making it much cheaper to maintain long-term.

Fiat e-Scudo charging

Charging the Fiat e-Scudo is made easy, with several options available. You can charge it at home using either a domestic three-pin plug or a wall-mounted charging box. The former will take a lot longer, so a wall box is often recommended for ease.

You can also charge it at work if you have the dedicated facilities, and on the go at over 53,000 charging points nationwide.

Of course, different speed chargers will take different times to charge your van. So you’ll need to consider which is the most efficient option for you.

To put things into perspective, a 50kWh charger will take around 5 hours, while a 75kWh charger will require 7 hours and 30 minutes. You’ll be provided with a standard 1.8kW AC charger, or you can request a wall box using other government grants and incentives to help reduce the costs.

On the go, you’ll find a wide range of rapid DC charging points, some of which can provide up to 80% charge in around half an hour. These are the ones you’ll want to look for most when using public charging stations!
