Business Van of the Year Awards 2018 shortlist

Vansdirect takes a look at the shortlist for the 2018 running of the prestigious awards, with a range of new van entries, from small vans to large vans and even pick-ups. Each of the entries will be investigated by an independent panel of judges, with the aim of choosing the best vans for a range of different trades and businesses including: builders, plumbers, electricians and small van fleets. Before the final decisions are made later this month, let’s take a look at the shortlist of new van entries!

Best Small Delivery Van

This category is open to all new vans with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) under 1-tonne. New van entries for the best small delivery van are as follows:

Vauxhall Corsavan 1.3 CDTi 16V 95ps ecoFLEX Start/Stop

This particular model of the Vauxhall Corsavan can cater for payloads up to 571kg, with a combined fuel economy of 78.5mpg and emissions of 94 g/km.

Best Small Trades Van

This category is open to all new vans with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) under 2.5-tonnes. New van entries for the best small trades van are as follows:

Renault Kangoo ZE 33 Business

This Electric ZE model of the Renault Kangoo can cater for payloads up to 625kg, with a range between 75 and 124 miles and zero emissions!

Vauxhall Combo L1H1 2300 1.3 CDTi 95ps ecoFLEX Start/Stop

This particular model of the Vauxhall Combo can cater for payloads up to 1000kg, with a combined fuel economy of 61.4mpg and emissions of 120 g/km.

Volkswagen Caddy Startline BlueMotion Technology

This particular model of the Volkswagen Caddy can cater for payloads up to 671kg, with a combined fuel economy of 47.1mpg and emissions of 137 g/km.

Best Large Trades Van

This category is open to all new vans with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) between 2.5-tonnes and 3.0 tonnes. New van entries for the best large trades van are as follows:

Renault Trafic SL27 dCi 120ps Business

This particular model of the Renault Trafic can cater for payloads up to 1075kg, with a combined fuel economy of 43.6mpg and emissions of 170 g/km.

Citroen Dispatch 1.6 BlueHdi Medium 115ps Start/Stop Enterprise

This particular model of the Citroen Dispatch can cater for payloads up to 1127kg, with a combined class leading fuel economy of 54.3mpg and emissions of 137 g/km.

Peugeot Expert 1.6 BlueHdi Medium 115ps Start/Stop Professional

This particular model of the Peugeot Expert is almost identical to the Citroen Dispatch model above and can cater for payloads up to 1127kg, with a combined class leading fuel economy of 54.3mpg and emissions of 137 g/km.

Vauxhall Vivaro L2H1 1.6 CDTI BiTurbo 125ps Start/Stop ecoTEC

This particular model of the Vauxhall Vivaro can cater for payloads up to 1280kg, with a combined fuel economy of 46.3mpg and emissions of 159 g/km.

Volkswagen Transporter T28 LWB Medium Roof 1.0 TDI BlueMotion Technology Startline

This particular model of the Volkswagen Transporter can cater for payloads up to 1280kg, with a combined fuel economy of 44.8mpg and emissions of 164 g/km.

Fiat Ducato Maxi Cab LH1 35 LWB 2.3 Multijet 130ps

Information is limited on payload, combined fuel economy and emissions of this Fiat Ducato model.

Best Heavy Van

This category is open to all new vans with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) between 3.0-tonnes and 3.5 tonnes. New van entries for the best heavy van are as follows:

This particular model of the Vauxhall Movano can cater for payloads up to 1557kg, with a combined fuel economy of 38.2mpg and emissions of 183 g/km.

Volkswagen Crafter CR30 L3H3 2.0 TDI Startline 102ps

This particular model of the Volkswagen Crafter can cater for payloads up to 801kg, with a combined fuel economy of 38.2mpg and emissions of 192 g/km.

Best Green Van

This category is open to all new vans with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) up to 3.5 tonnes that reduce their environmental impact on the road. New van entries for the best green van are as follows:

Renault Kangoo ZE 33 Business

The second entry for the Electric ZE model of the Renault Kangoo, which can cater for payloads up to 625kg, with a range between 75 and 124 miles and of course, zero emissions.

Volkswagen Transporter T28 LWB Medium Roof 2.0 TSI 150ps BlueMotion Technology Startline

This particular model of the Volkswagen Transporter can cater for payloads up to 883kg, with a combined fuel economy of 30.39mpg and emissions of 211 g/km.

Best pick-up van

This category is open to all new pick-up vans, both single cab and double cab form with a towing capacity up to 3.5-tonnes. New van entries for the best pick-up van are as follows:

Volkswagen Amarok 3.0 V6 TDI Permanent BlueMotion Technology 204ps Automatic Highline

This particular model of the Volkswagen Amarok pick-up can cater for payloads up to 1092kg, with a combined fuel economy of 34.9mpg and emissions of 213 g/km.

Mitsubishi L200 2.4 DI-D 4Titan Double Cab 4WD

This particular model of the Mitsubishi L200 pick-up can cater for payloads up to 1045kg, with a combined fuel economy of 40.9mpg and emissions of 186 g/km.

Fiat Fullback Double Cab 2.4D 150 SX

This particular model of the Fiat Fullback pick-up is almost identical to the Citroen Dispatch model above and can cater for payloads up to 1045kg, with a combined fuel economy of 39.8mpg and emissions of 180 g/km.
