The Mitsubishi L200 Pick-Up Truck is Back at Vansdirect

The Mitsubishi L200 Pick-Up Truck is Back at Vansdirect

It’s official, the Mitsubishi L200 pick-up truck has returned to UK shores and sure enough it is available to buy or lease at Vansdirect now.

It has been five years since the L200 last graced price lists after Mitsubishi took the decision to back out of the UK market, taking the popular pick-up truck with it.

However, the Japanese marque is forging a path back to this country this summer and the L200 pick-up – perennially one of its most popular models – is leading its charge.

Prior to Mitsubishi’s withdrawal, the L200 had long been established among the most popular models in the pick-up truck segment having successfully carved a niche for itself among lifestyle customers as well as traditional commercial users.

Since then, however, the L200 is undergone a major transformation for what is now its seventh-generation model.

Sharing its underpinnings with the latest Nissan Navara (which is no longer available in the UK), the latest L200 – known as the Triton in other markets – has ditched the previous model’s curvier lines for a decidedly more muscular profile.

With its chunky body kit and squared off profile, the L200 has a similar visual impact as the current pick-up truck standard, the Ford Ranger.

Under the skin, the L200 is powered by a 2.4-litre turbocharged engine producing 201bhp and a mammoth 470Nm of torque.

With a specific focus on providing exceptional off-road performance, the L200 gets myriad electronic aides, including Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control, while there are seven driver modes – Normal, Eco, Gravel, Snow, Mud, Sand and Rock – available via its Super Select 4WD-II system.

Payload capacity is rated between 1025-1092kg, while towing up to 3,500kg is also permitted.

Two trim levels will be offered – Titan and Barbarian – with both coming with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The Mitsubishi L200 heads into a pick-up truck segment that comprises popular models as the Ford Ranger, Volkswagen Amarok and the recently updated Isuzu D-Max, while the venerable Toyota Hilux and KGM Musso will receive major overhauls for 2026. Meanwhile, Maxus has two entries with the T60 MAX and electric eTerron 9.
