New Nissan Navara 2019 - everything we know so far

New Nissan Navara 2019 - everything we know so far

Nissan vans have revealed a refreshed version of the iconic Nissan Navara pick-up with a host of fresh technology, a revised chassis setup and a new six-speed manual transmission. Our team of van experts at Vansdirect take a closer look at the new pick-up which will join the Nissan NV200, Nissan NV300 and Nissan NV400 in the Nissan van range!

New Nissan Navara pick-up

Nissan vans have revealed a refreshed version of the Nissan Navara pick-up truck with updates including a new manual transmission, a host of extra technology and a revised chassis setup. Chassis revisions start with the roll-out of the pick-up truck's multi-link rear suspension setup to the Nissan Navara King Cab. This results in the base model getting a 46kg increase in payload and also means that the entire range is now available with fully independent suspension.

Nissan vans have also revised the braking system of the Nissan Navara, replacing the drums of the old model with disc brakes fitted to the rear axle. There's also a larger brake servo and larger front brake discs.

Nissan vans have retuned the 2.3-litre four-cylinder diesel engine option adding new twin turbochargers and whilst power remains the same at 161ps, torque has increased 22Nm over the outgoing model, now delivering 425Nm. This engine upgrade is nicely complemented by the addition of a new six-speed manual gearbox with a shorter shift pattern and longer ratios.

The more powerful 188ps four-cylinder diesel engine remains available on Nissan Navara Acenta Plus models and above and can be twined with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed automatic and four-wheel drive.

Styling revisions for the new Nissan van include new 17-inch and 18-inch alloy wheels and fresh black headlight surrounds. There also the addition of Nissan Connect for the very first time, this allows owners to remotely operate the door locks of the Nissan Navara, check the status of its fuel and fluid levels and pre-program satellite navigation routes ahead of departure, all by using a smartphone application.
