Electric Farizon SV Out-Performs Own Efficiency Stats on Green Rally

The all-new Farizon SV has offered an encouraging endorsement for the efficiency of its new electric van by outperforming its own official figures for range during an EV rally.
The SV – which stands for SuperVan – recently landed in the UK under the Farizon banner, which is the commercial arm of Chinese automotive giants Geely, owner of Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, Lynk&Co and Zeekr.
Available in five body sizes that straddle both the medium and large van classes, the SV is also available with three different battery options - 67kWh, 83kWh and 106kWh – purported to offer 188, 234 and 247 miles of range respectively.
These figures have been determined using the standardised WLTP – Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure – assessment.
During this independent assessment, dynamic, multi-stage driving cycles that simulate real-world conditions and account for optional vehicle equipment, are supposed to give accurate and comparable measures of performance.
However, it is known that matching these figures in the real-world can be difficult with factors such as weight, ambient temperature and driving style being known to have a significant impact on the outright range and efficiency use of electric vehicles.
This is what was therefore put to the test by Farizon during the GREENFLEET Explorer EV Rally which saw three SVs (two 83kWh, one 106kWh) driven 1043 miles from Newquay to Cheshire via Kent, the East Midlands, Suffolk and the Peak District.
These vehicles would be put to the test by journalists, prospective customers and fleet managers to ensure parity of driving styles, while cargo would include racking, a fridge and luggage during the trip.
Come the end of the trip, two of the three vehicles – the 106kWh L3/H3 and 83kWh L2/H2 – would perform better than their WLTP figures.
The 106kWh managed to be 9.68% over its stated WLTP figure, travelling 2.19-miles per kWh spent, while the 83kWh would be 1.52% over (2.55 miles per kWh spent).
Calum James, General Manager of Farizon UK, said: “People are used to taking the official range and efficiency stats with a pinch of salt, so I’m very proud that the data collected demonstrates just how efficient the Farizon SV is in the real-world, on real roads and with realistic loads in the back, all with multiple drivers throughout the test period.
“This validation of the SV’s operational efficiency will instil even greater confidence among our customers. The resulting message is clear: the SV will deliver for businesses, day after day.”
Farizon isn’t the only new brand Geely is launching in the UK this year. Indeed, the Geely brand itself is in the midst of establishing itself on these shores using the know-how generated from launching Farizon, while Zeekr – which is established in Europe – is expected to arrive in 2026.
