CV show 2017 - Highlights (Part 2)

Yesterday as the CV show concluded, we brought you some of the highlights of this year's event. With so many highlights to bring to you, we thought we'd bring you more today. As Vansdirect continues its look-back at the UK's largest commercial vehicle event!


Fiat display full new van range

Fiat had a huge part to play at the CV show, bringing their full range of vans for the public to view. With the Fiorino (What Van's Small Van of the year 2017) , Doblo Cargo, Fullback, Talento, Ducato all on display at the CV show, there are promising times ahead for the Italian manufacturer, as visitors flocked to their stand.


Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP unveiled

Mitsubishi took to the CV show to release the L200 Barbarian SVP, as part of its Special Vehicles Program (SVP). Each model is individually numbered to reflect its limited run-out, with only 250 examples being available. This version of the L200 pick-up; weighing one tonne, has a number of improvements over the usual Barbarian to enhance its off-road abilities, these include: BF Goodrich all-terrain tyres, 17-inch black alloy wheels, extended wheel arches, matte black roof rails, SVP logos in the headrests and suede inserts to finish the usual leather seats.


Ford Transit and Transit Custom fitted with six-speed automatic transmissions

As mentioned in part 1, Ford had a significant presence at the CV show this year. Part 1 focused on the new Transit Courier Sport van, now Vansdirect looks at the updated Transit van range. Both the Ford Transit and Transit Custom variations were on display, fitted with the optional new six-speed automatic transmission. Available from May, the new automatic transmission can be fitted in conjunction with the 130ps and 170ps versions of Ford's new EcoBlue 2.0 litre diesel engine.


New Volkswagen Crafter unveiled

In part 1 we looked at the new MAN TGE van, now it's time to look at the van that MAN based their creation upon. Volkswagen took to the CV show 2017 to unveil the new Crafter. On show were both panel vans and dropsides. The Crafter, previously built by Mercedes (based on the Sprinter) is now built in-house by Volkswagen, the benefits of this change include: the 2.0 turbodiesel engine and transmission obtained from the Transporter.


Long wheelbase models of Peugeot Expert and Citroen Dispatch unveiled

Peugeot and Citroen both used the CV show to unveil new long wheelbase versions of their medium vans. The Peugeot Expert Long and Citroen Dispatch XL have a load length of 2862mm and can accommodate up to three Europallets. The Expert Long is also obtainable as a crew van, with twin glazed sliding doors and fixed side windows. Both vans have are available with five transmission and engine combinations and contain the same features fitted as standard as their smaller variants.
