CV Show 2016: New vans, new pickups, new engines
Yesterday, Vansdirect headed up to the CV Show 2016 at the NEC in Birmingham with eager anticipation of the new van models on show at the event.
Scheduled to be on display were new vans from Toyota, Citroen and Peugeot as well as new pick-ups including the Hilux, L200 and a first ever pickup from Fiat.

Here are our photos of the new vehicles, and what we found out about them
Toyota Proace
The new Toyota Proace offers more body types, lengths and engines than ever before. It has three front seats, a new Smart Cargo system to maximise loadspace (shown below) and improved payloads of up to 1400kg.
Toyota Hilux
Toyota's 2016 Hilux pickup has quite a few changes. A new engine provides significantly improved torque delivery in low and medium speed ranges and a class-leading fuel economy. The low-range 4WD gear lever has been replaced with a switch which Toyota says is easier to operate and improves durability and reliability. The blue model shown below features a roll-out cargo tray and hard top cover.
Isuzu D-Max Centurion
Isuzu's new top-of-the-range D-Max Centurion pickup truck made its public debut at the NEC. Visitors were in the presence of rarity; there are only 100 Centurions available in the UK, all of which are finished in 'Fjord blue'. Featuring 19-inch black and silver 'Hurricane' alloy wheels, leather trim, an 8" touchscreen and a rear-view camera - as well as a ceiiling mounted 10.2 inch monitor in the back - the Centurion is the definition of Luxury.
Citroen Dispatch
The New Citroen Dispatch is available in three lengths, with even the smallest version able to carry 1400kg of cargo. Citroen have retained the low height of the van in order to ensure it can still access restricted areas like car parks. An excellent new feature is the hands-free sliding side doors. When your hands are full, simply swipe your foot under the rear bumper and the side door opens. Loading your van just got easier!
Peugeot Expert
The new Peugeot Expert is almost identical to the new Citroen Dispatch. Parked side-by-side, you'd be hard pressed to find any differences bar their manufacturer's badges. As a result, the new features are the same as the Dispatch. Both vehicles incorporate the new hands-free door technology, 7" touchscreen satellite navigation and improved payloads. You can see the fold-up seat in the front with the load-through facility visible. The only real difference is your personal preference.
Fiat Fullback
Fiat's first ever pickup debuted at the CV Show. Despite being scheduled for a June launch, details are still thin on the ground. What we do know is that the Fullback pick will be exclusively available as a Doublecab, that it can carry up to 1045kg of cargo, there will be two trim levels, two power units (150PS or 180PS) and the transmission options are a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic gearbox.
And the rest...
Among the other new vehicles and products at the CV Show were a new Daily panel van from Iveco with a load area of TWENTY cubic metres! Ford's new diesel EcoBlue engine was also on show, and last but not least - the UEFA cup (now known at the Europa League)!
