5 reasons to buy a new Citroen Berlingo

New Citroen Berlingo vans for sale

The new Citroen Berlingo van has won a host of plaudits in its short time in the small vans market including being named International van of the year 2019. Vansdirect looks a 5 reasons to buy a new Citroen Berlingo!

Here are five reasons that the Citroen Berlingo is a great choice for your business.

1. Generous dimensions

With a cavernous 3.8 cubic metres of load volume (this can be extended to 4.4 cubic metres with the EXTENSO modular folding passenger seat) and an ample 1.29m width between its wheel arches, the Berlingo van is capable of carrying two Europallets and is comfortably able to carry a payload of up to one-tonne. The rear doors open to 180 degrees making it easy to back right up to loading bays and a side access door makes loading easy.

2. Loadspace flexibility

Standard Citroen Berlingo vans offer 3.3 cubic metres of load volume, this increases to 3.8 cubic metres on LWB versions. The Citroen Berlingo van also offers a full modular layout with the EXTENSO cabin available on all models above base level X vans. Which extends load volume to 4.4 cubic metres on LWB vans, meaning load lengths in excess of three metres can be accommodated courtesy of the load-through flap in the bulkhead, perfect for longer items such as pipes.

3. Citroen Berlingo – low running costs

One of the cheapest small vans available, with a deposit you can pick up a Berlingo van for as little as £135 per month, which is nothing short of staggering considering the abundance of features and technology which you’ll find inside the new Citroen Berlingo van.  In terms of fuel efficiency the Citroen Berlingo van is one of the most economical in its class, delivering fuel economies in excess of 60 miles to the gallon.

4. Suited to your needs

Whichever of the four trim levels you opt for with your new Citroen Berlingo van, you’ll find a model tailored to your requirements and loaded with standard features. Entry level X models are your nitty gritty with standard features including: nearside sliding door, automatic headlights, full bulkhead, DAB radio and bluetooth. There’s standalone Worker models aimed at tradesmen, builders and engineers, with a raised ground clearance and increased payload amongst features aimed to tackle the dings and rigor of building sites. There’s also Enterprise and Driver models designed with delivery firms in mind and aimed at drivers who spend large amounts of their working days in their vans. Driver models get features including Citroen Connect Nav and Surround Rear Vision camera to prepare you for everything the day has in store.

5. Three seats available

In addition with the load-through bulkhead mentioned above, the EXTENSO seat layout available on Citroen Berlingo vans above X in trim level means that seating for three is available in the cabin if you specify this layout. Three seater vans are somewhat of a rarity in the small vans market and this is handy extra seat means you don’t need to look at getting a larger van if you occasionally transport more than one passenger on a regular basis.
