The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and electric Mercedes-Benz eSprinter are Large Vans available in the choice of three length variations – L2, L3 and L4 – with just the one height option, H2.
The dimensions of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter earmark it as one of the largest and most generously sized large vans in the sector, offering up to 15.5 cubic metres of cargo space in its largest guise.
As well as the standard Panel Van, the Sprinter is offered as a Luton Van, Crew Cab, Chassis Cab, Chassis Crew Cab, Dropside (Single/Double) and Tipper (Single/Double Cab).
The entry point in the Sprinter range is the L2 H2, measures just under six-metres (5932mm) in length, rising to 6967mm (L3/H2) and 7367mm (L4/H2), making it longer than the equivalent Ford Transit and Volkswagen Crafter.
This translates to the Sprinter enjoying one of the largest load volumes in the class with the L2/H2 measuring 10.5 cubic metres for cargo space, the L3/H2 offering 14.0 cubic metres and the biggest L4/H2 providing 15.5 cubic metres.
Notably, the L3 and L4 lengths offer the same wheelbase of 4325mm. This is because the extended length of the L4 is found behind the rear-axle.

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter's payload capacity is determined by which engine, gross vehicle weight and body size is chosen.
Of the entire range, the most generous payload can be found with the 517 PRO L2 H2 trim with a capacity of 2479kg available.
In electric trim, the electric Mercedes eSprinter offers a payload capacity of between 495kg and 1278kg depending on which length and GVW you choose.
The Mercedes-Benz offers a generous towing capacity across the entire range, no matter the body style configuration or powertrain choice.
All turbodiesel models can achieve at least 2000kg maximum braked towing capacity, with exception to the 5.0-tonne (515, 517 and 519) models which can manage 3500kg.
