The Ford Transit and electric Ford E-Transit are Large Vans offered in a choice of five body styles through a series of length and height variations: L2/H2, L2/H3, L3/H2, L3/H3 and L4/H3.
The dimensions of the Ford Transit put it on a par with most equivalent vans in the large van sector with a maximum load volume of 15.1 cubic metres available from the largest body style, the L4/H3.
In addition to the Panel Van options, the Ford Transit is offered as a Double Cab-In-Van (Crew Van), Luton Van, Chassis Cab, Chassis Double Cab, Dropside and Tipper van.
The largest model in the Transit range is the L4/H3 which measures 6704mm in length with a wheelbase of 3750mm, offering a total cargo space of 15.1 cubic metres.
The L3 Transit measures 5531mm in length and is available in either H2 or H3 height variations. These models offer 11.5 (H2) and 13.0 (H3) cubic metres of cargo space.
The entry-point to the range is the L2 H2 and L2 H3 which offer 10.0 and 11.2 cubic metres of cargo volume respectively.
In addition to having competitive cargo space, the Ford Transit has a wide side opening door aperture of 1300mm and a load length of 3083mm (L2), 3533mm (L3) and 4256 (L4).

The Ford Transit's payload capacity is determined by which body size and gross vehicle weight is chosen, as well as whether it is a diesel or electric powertrain.
The largest model in the range - the L4/H3 - can carry up to 2412kg in 5.0-tonne RWD trim, or up to 2145kg with a 4.7-tonne RWD GVW or 1646kg with a 3.5-tonne RWD GVW.
Choose the electric Ford E-Transit and you are offered a payload capacity of between 924kg and 1653 depending on which length and GVW (3.9-tonnes or 4.25-tonnes) you choose.
The Ford Transit offers a generous towing capacity across the entire range, no matter the body style configuration or powertrain choice with a maximum braked towing capacity of between 2600kg and 3500kg offered across the diesel-powered range.
The electric Ford E-Transit has a maximum braked towing capacity of 750kg when mated to the 3.9-tonne GVW version.
