Nissan Navara AT32 Off-Roader launched!
Nissan vans have partnered with pick-up van conversion specialists Arctic Trucks to create a new model of the Nissan Navara pick-up and the results certainly catch the eye!
Nissan Navara AT32 Off-Roader
The new pick-up developed in collaboration between Nissan vans and Arctic Trucks was on display at the CV Show 2018 and gets a whole host of modifications with off-road driving clearly in mind. The new Nissan Navara gets a whole new suspension kit which raised the ride height by 20mm, the new kit is also accompanied by new full underbody protection and larger off-road special tyres. There's also the option of specifying a snorkel for improved wading depth of 800mm.
The enhancements are not just limited to top spec Nissan Navara pick-ups, they are available on different combinations of the Navara double cab. In conjunction with the snorkel and suspension, there will be the option of additional traction of more challenging surfaces with a locking front differential. Visual enhancements to the new pick-up include extensions to the wheel arches, designed to magnify the new taller appearance and provide enhanced bodywork protection through extreme off-roading.
Improved off-road capability
The new pick-up gets 17-inch alloy wheels which have been designed by Arctic Trucks, whereas the new 32-inch tyres were chosen specifically for improving traction off-road, whilst not compromising the outstanding on the road performance. The large diameter of the tyre, helps the driver to reduce pressure, further increasing traction for example in snow or soft sand. The new pick-up is 40mm taller than standard Navara models, whilst it also gets a 243mm ground clearance and increased maximum approach angle of 35 degrees.
Nissan vans are understandably proud of their new pick-up, with UK managing director Alex Smith commenting that the new pick-up is their most capable ever: "The Nissan Navara Off-Roader AT32 is the most capable Navara we've ever sold, and the CV Show is the perfect location for its debut. We believe the mix of enhanced off-road ability and upgraded exterior features will appeal to a new audience of both professional and recreational pick-up customers."
Plethora of features
In conjunction with the previously mentioned enhancements, the AT32 Off-roader will get standard features including: hill start assist, automatic emergency braking, hill descent control and a top-down view 360-degree camera system.
