We might be known for our vans, but did you know that we now offer car contract hire options, too?
That’s right, you can now get car contract hire from Vansdirect. So what cars are available? Our current range may be short on quantity, but it’s definitely not short on quality – and all at cheap prices!
Here’s a look at three of the models in our new car contract hire range.
The Smart Forfour is a compact four-seat car. If you’re wondering just how small, think of the Renault Twingo – the Smart Forfour shares its chassis and engines. We offer two versions of the Forfour; a 1.0-litre ‘Prime Premium’ model as well as the ‘Night Sky Prime Premium’ version, which is basically the same as the Prime but with an electric folding roof and alternate trim colouring.
Customise the Forfour with a choice of nine body panel colours, six ‘safety cell’ (we’ll explain) colours and five radiator trims. Safety cell refers to the shell of the car, which Smart calls ‘tridion’. The shell gets its own colour, as do the car’s panels. Of course, you can use the same colour for both –or mix and match for a total of 45 colour combinations.
Standard exterior features include 15” alloy wheels, a rear spoiler and panoramic roof. Inside the car you’ll find climate and cruise control, start/stop technology, a 12v electrical socket, USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity and heated front seats. The Smart Forfour sits in insurance group 2E/3E while its Euro6 compliant 1.0-litre engine offers a fuel economy of 65.7mpg to 67.3mpg.
Skoda’s Yeti Outdoor crossover combines the practicality of a hatchback with the capability of an SUV. A family car, the Skoda Yeti Outdoor offers a lot of boot space – perfect for shopping, sports equipment or your dog! It also comes with roof rails with a 100kg capacity as standard, giving you even more stowing options.
The Skoda Yeti Outdoor’s standard features include stop/start technology, air conditioning while exterior features include 16” alloy wheels and front fog lights. Its Euro6 compliant engine delivers a frankly phenomenal 62mpg.
Keeping the family entertained on long trips is no problem with the Yeti Outdoor. You’ll find 12v electrical sockets in the front and in the boot, along with SD, AUX and USB ports. A 5” touchscreen integrated into the dashboard along with a multi-function steering wheel means you stay in control!
At the higher end of the scale, there’s the Mercedes A-Class. We offer two models, the A180 and A200 – both Sport models with 7-speed automatic transmission. As you’d expect, this car is jam-packed with luxury features.
Standard on both models are 17” alloy wheels with a 5-twin-spoke design, comfort suspension, a reversing camera with 180 degree view, air conditioning, rain sensing wipers, start/stop technology, an electronic key and body coloured side skirts to enhance the car’s ‘sporty’ look. And that’s not an exhaustive list! There’s also the ‘dynamic select’ feature offering four different driving modes; Eco, Sport, Comfort and Individual.
Interior features are also present in abundance; there’s an 8” central media display, a CD player compatible with many different music file types, 2 USB ports and even an SD card port. A multi-function steering wheel allows for quick and easy media control. The Mercedes A-Class also features climate control and a convenient centre armrest, rounding off a classy-looking interior.
In terms of performance, the A-Class’ 1.6-litre petrol engines deliver a fuel economy between 49.6mpg to 55.4mpg. The only difference between the A180 and A200 is power output; the A180 offers 125PS while the A200 is more powerful with 160PS. This translates to a 0.3 second advantage in getting from 0-62mph while the A200 reaches a top speed of 139mph compared to the A180’s 126mph.
