Dynamic new management teams joins Vansdirect.co.uk
Vansdirect.co.uk is building on its success as the UK's largest independant new van supplier with the appointment of a dymanic new management team.
The Llantrisant based firm has appointed a new chairman and four other key members of staff to work with its existing team of 150 people.
The move will drive forward the home-grown business which is one of Wales' most well kept secret success stories.
Leading the appointments is new chairman Randall Edwards, who has vast experience having previously worked for 18 years as a Corporate Finance Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers before leaving to work with retail and finance group Buy As You View.
Commenting on his new role, Llanidloes born Mr Edwards said, "Vansdirect has grown rapidly to become a market leader in this niche sector in the UK and I am genuinely excited by the prospect of working with the team here to build on the successful platform already created and take the business to the next level.
Mr Edwards is joined at Vansdirect by two of his former colleagues at Buy As You View: Martyn John who is the new IT Director, and Gruff Dodd who takes the post of Finance Director.
Mr John, who comes from Pembrokshire, will be implementing new IT systems to help the company deal with being part of the fastest growing vehicle sector in the UK.
Mr Dodd, who comes from Wrexham, will be managing the growing finances of the business which sells over 10,000 vehicles a year and has a turnover of £100m
The new management team is completed with Ian Screen who joins as HR Manager and Gareth Thomas as Media Marketing Manager.
Cardiff University graduate Mr Screen has applied HR globally in countries including the UK, Romania and China.
Mr Thomas, who comes from Ystradgynlais, will be overseeing the media and brand strategy for the company and was previously the Uk Marketing Manager for McArthurGlen where he helped transform the image and turn the business around.
Vansdirect founder, Carl Platel, said he was delighted to have appointed such a strong and dynamic management team to lead the company into the future.
