Vauxhall Combo E Electric Van Review 2024

The electric van designed to support you through your working day. Get ready for a job well done, thanks to the performance, size and fast-charging capabilities of the Vauxhall Combo E.

Vauxhall Combo E driving range

A competitive 171 miles (WLTP) is offered by the Combo E. You can further improve the range by making the most of its Eco mode through your drive too.

You need not fear Low Emission Zones (LEZs) and Clean Air Zones (CAZs) on your route, as the Combo E can travel through them at leisure. Particularly urban drivers will benefit from this.

Vauxhall Combo E performance, power and drive

Available with a single 50kWh battery option, this van makes decision-making easy when it comes to configuring your Combo E. As a great all-rounder, the van offers three driving modes, Eco, Normal and Power. Give yourself options when it comes to your daily driving style.

The front-wheel drive van comes with 136bhp, plenty for your needs in and out of town. As an electric vehicle, instant power exactly when you need it is where the van really shines. Smooth and quiet, the 260Nm of torque available in Power mode makes the Combo E swift on take-off. This is great for junctions, roundabouts, and general town driving where quick actions make the difference. Thanks to this gutsy characteristic, the van is also capable of towing 750kg.

Vauxhall Combo E cabin and interior

The cab interior is smart, practical and equipped with a generous amount of technology. User-friendly displays and menus help greatly if you are taking the leap from petrol or diesel vans to an electric model.

A flat-bottomed steering wheel and satin chrome-effect details give an at-home feel to the cabin. Comfortable fabric seats are a comfortable and practical choice for the Combo E. A four-way adjustable driver’s seat allows you to set up perfectly to your needs.

Vauxhall Combo E specifications

Despite a single battery option, the Vauxhall Combo E comes in two trims, Prime and Pro; two lengths, L1 and L2; and five-seater crew cab or passenger car versions.

With Prime trim level as standard, you benefit from Vauxhall Connect, 8" touchscreen, hill start assist and a full height steel bulkhead. Choosing the automatic van, you get power folding door mirrors, heated leather steering wheel and lane keep assist, to name a few, as standard.

The crew van comes with appropriate features as standard. Such as a three-seat second row bench, six-way adjustable driver’s seat and a two-position moveable ladder frame bulkhead, all to help with crew comfort.

A nearside sliding side-access door comes with the L1 version and both nearside and offside sliding side-access doors come with the L2 size van.

Choosing the Pro trim will get you all the above features but also with added extras including Multimedia Navi Pro, a body-colour body kit, Sat Nav and FlexCargo loading system – including a load through bulkhead, a flat-folding centre backrest and a dual front passenger seat.

Vauxhall Combo E technology

As standard with the Prime trim on the Combo E you get DAB radio, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto all contained within an 8" touchscreen.

The van is also kitted out with cruise control, air conditioning and Vauxhall Connect services. As an option, or available with Pro trim, is Sat Nav.

Vauxhall Combo E running cost and value

Lower running costs are a benefit of going fully electric with any vehicle. Charging infrastructure is growing around the UK by the day, and home charging is readily available to set up. You can be sure you start your new daily routine with ease. The future really is electric.

Thanks to electric vehicles having fewer fluids and moving parts to break, wear out, use up and need replacing, maintenance costs are less too. With advice on how to properly maintain your battery – charging between 20% – 80%, using regenerative braking and parking out of direct sunlight being some – you can extend the life of your battery considerably. Check out our service and maintenance package for anything you may need.

Vauxhall Combo E charging

Best of all, the Vauxhall Combo E can fast charge. Meaning when you’re out and busy you can make use of 100kWh rapid chargers exactly when you need them. Charge from empty to 80% in just 30 minutes.

Domestic home chargers top up your van in around seven and a half hours with the standard 7.4kWh on-board charger supplied. Reduce the charge time to just five hours with the optional 11kWh on-board charger.

Vauxhall Combo E pros and cons

Pros Cons
Great option of model types and trims without overwhelming choices. Its rivals have very similar offerings with similar specifications.
Good offerings of equipment even on the standard Prime trim. The single battery choice might thwart those wanting options.
Can full charge in five hours (with the optional 11kWh cable). Maximum range under 200 miles.

Vauxhall Combo E rivals

The Vauxhall Combo E's closest rivals are the best other options for you; the Citroen e-Berlingo and Peugeot e-Partner. The upcoming electric version of the Toyota Proace City is also to be included in these rivals; however, the Proace City does look to have marginally fewer miles on the range.
