Peugeot e-Boxer Electric Van Review 2024

Experience ultimate versatility with the Peugeot e-Boxer. Choose from a range of lengths, heights, loadspace capacities, and gross vehicle weights.

Peugeot e-Boxer driving range

The Peugeot e-Boxer van has a WLTP range of up to 154 miles with a 75kWh battery. Peugeot estimates that two-thirds of drivers travel less than 30 miles per day on average. This means in theory, you only need to charge the e-Boxer once a week. However, your range will be affected by several factors including weather, load capacity, and your driving habits.

Peugeot e-Boxer performance, power and drive

The Peugeot e-Boxer is equipped with a 75kWh battery and 90kWh electric motor with top speeds of 75mph. Instead of manually changing gears, you can select Drive, Neutral, or Reverse, with a simple touch of a button.

Peugeot e-Boxer cabin and interior

Whether you need to transport cargo or passengers, the interior of the Peugeot e-Boxer is designed to meet the demands of modern working life.

Inside the cabin, there are plenty of storage features, including mobile phone storage in the centre of the lower dashboard. The driver’s seat has height, rake, reach, and lumbar adjustment, to help you find the perfect driving position. You’ll also find a dual-seat passenger bench and full steel bulkhead to separate the cabin from the load area.

Peugeot e-Boxer buying & owning

While the Peugeot e-Boxer might be pricier than its diesel equivalent, in the long term, ownership costs will be lower.

This is especially true of servicing and maintenance costs. As electric vans have fewer parts than petrol or diesel vans, they are cheaper to maintain. For added reassurance, all Peugeot electric vans are covered by up to five years warranty and an eight-year battery warranty.

The warranty package covers:

Peugeot e-Boxer running cost and value

The Peugeot e-Boxer offers significantly lower running costs than its diesel counterpart. While it may be more expensive to buy or lease at first, there’s no fuel or tax costs to contend with.

You can also charge your electric van at night to reduce costs even further and make the most of cheap electricity rates. With Peugeot estimating that the 154-mile range will be suitable for most drivers, you can keep charging to a minimum. According to Peugeot, you may only need to do so once a week if you travel less than 30 miles per day.

As the Peugeot e-Boxer emits zero emissions, it’s exempt from any Low Emission Zone (LEZ) charges. In the long run, this will save you money, as opposed to vans that don’t meet the criteria and will face charges.

Peugeot e-Boxer charging

You can charge the Peugeot e-Boxer van at home, work, or on the go. Using a 7.4kW charger and the on-board charger, it should take around seven hours to charge the 75kW battery to 100%. Whereas a 22kW charger and the on-board charger will take around five hours to reach full power.
