Citroen e-Berlingo ownership

Like most electric vans, the Citroen e-Berlingo is pricier compared to its petrol or diesel counterpart. However, once it’s yours, you get to enjoy lower running costs.

Charging the e-Berlingo with a 50kW battery has an approximately 2.9 pence a mile rate. We recommend charging your EV at home or workplace overnight by using a wallbox to benefit from the cheaper night tariffs.

The MPV is also cheaper to service than a petrol or diesel van, as it has fewer parts and fluids to change. Also, the model’s regenerative braking system helps you extend the battery life.

You can expect a three-year or 60,000-mile warranty with the van, whichever comes first. Plus, the battery has its own warranty, guaranteed to retain 70% of its capacity over eight years, or 100,000 miles.

Compared to its petrol and diesel equivalents, the e-Berlingo is cheaper to maintain. You can optimise the lowest energy tariffs by charging your EV overnight.

EVs also have fewer parts that need to be maintained compared to internal combustion engine models. You can expect the battery to maintain its capacity 70% over eight years or 100,000 miles. This ensures you will receive value for your money.

When you drive an electric vehicle, you can also access cities Low Emission Zones (LEZs) and Clean Air Zones (CAZs) for free.

Citroen e-Berlingo charging

There’s three ways you can charge your Citroen e-Berlingo.

Firstly, you can simply plug it in using the standard 13A socket, but this is not recommended for regular charging. This is also the slowest way to charge your EV.

We recommend charging your e-Berlingo by using a wallbox charger, ranging from 3.7kW to 22kW. The time required to top up from 0-100% ranges from five to seven and a half hours. This depends on the charger.

You can also recharge by using a rapid public charging point, up to 100kW. This allows you to charge your EV up to 80% in a mere 30 minutes.
