Ford Reports 20% Increase

Ford has reported a 20% increase in sales since April and the van giant continues to gain market share.  However, the car and cheap vans maker insists that it has nothing to do with General Motors and Chrysler filing for bankruptcy protection.  Indeed, Ford has attributed its recent success to the launch of the new Ford Fusion and the new Ford Fiesta beating the Volkswagen Golf to the title of best selling European car.

On the back of this the van giant has announced plans to increase vechicle production to 460,000 units in the third quarter, an increase of 42,000 units compared with the third quarter of 2008.

Despite this recent run of form, Ford’s year-to-date sales are down 37% at 620,303 vehicles.
