Ford Further Improves Van Range

Ford has introduced several upgrades to the Transit Van and the Transit Minibus models in a bid to further improve its vans range.
 
The Ford Transit Van upgrade means that all van models with rear-wheel-drive from 100ps to 200ps will come with a six speed gearbox as standard from September. This change will also mean an improved miles per gallon and lower CO2 performance. 

Renault make €275m loss in 2008

The French car and van maker Renault has announced operating losses of €275m in 2008 despite earning €598m during the first half of the year.  In response, Renault has been given a €4.4bn (£3.9bn) bail-out by the French government and drastically cut all costs - including scrapping its dividend payouts and staff bonuses.

Nissan to make global cuts

According to the Guardian, Nissan has announced plans to cut 20,000 jobs worldwide by March 2010.  As previously reported, Nissan have already made 1,200 British based workers redundant in response to plummeting sales and the credit crunch. 

Nissan Cuts the Costs

Japanese car and van manufacturer Nissan has announced that it will cut 1,200 jobs from its Sunderland factory in response to the current economic crisis and its impact on the car industry.  This will be the first Nissan has undertaken such cost cutting measures since production began at the Sunderland factory in 1986.
